Sam, Olivia, and Josh have breakfast at Company. They discuss the wedding and Josh suggests they have the reception at the Country Club. Olivia thinks she should invite Marah to be in the wedding party but Sam thinks it is pointless. Josh says that it doesn't matter because she is damned if she does or damned if she doesn't. He says that Marah isn't as tough on the inside as she looks on the outside and suggests that Olivia just talk to Marah to make her feel included. Olivia goes to talk to her and Josh tells her not to let Marah be rude. Sam asks Josh who is first in his life either the kids or Olivia. Josh tells him that the priorities are different and that Olivia knows that. Josh says that the kids lives are changing anyway and Sam asks him if he is really in the for the long haul. Josh says that marriage usually means that but Sam points out that it didn't with Reva. He says that he is very happy with Olivia and leaves to go to work. Meanwhile, Shayne tries to remember TV and Marah talks about the wedding. She thinks Reva is lucky to be going out of town and Marah says that she is only going for Josh. Shayne says it could be worse because she could be pregnant and Reva overhears them. She comes in and acts as though she didn't hear them. She asks them to come to Pittsburgh with her and Noah and Shayne says that he can't because he is Josh's best man. Marah says that she doesn't want to be a third wheel and she calls the wedding "just a few couple horrible hours." Shayne asks Reva if she is planning on marrying Noah and Reva thinks that is funny. She says that she is not in any hurry to get married. Reva says that this wedding is just a part of life that they can't change and that they will all get through it just fine. Later, Olivia arrives and asks Marah if she would like to be one of the bridesmaids. Marah thinks she has some nerve and Olivia explains that she just wanted to include her. Marah tells her that a simple no is not enough but maybe hell no or no damn way. She tells Olivia to go tell Josh that she hurt her feelings so that he can kiss it and make it better but Olivia tells her that she was only asking to make Josh happy. Olivia says that she only wants to give to Josh and not just take like the people in this house but Marah points out that she took away Josh's chance to have a life with his family. Marah tells her to get out and Olivia tells her that she get used to the fact that she is going to marry Josh.
Susan arrives and Sam thanks her for the great job she did with NuGround. Susan can't believe that Olivia would dare ask Marah to be a bridesmaid but Sam thinks it is smart. Susan says that she hasn't heard one word from Max since he left and Sam explains that guys don't handle breakups like girls do. Susan tells Sam about Jim being gone to San Cristobel. She makes a comment about Beth and feels bad because she didn't really mean it. She says that Beth is becoming cooler and Marah arrives. Marah wants to know why Susan isn't grounded too and Susan leaves them alone. Sam tells her that the silver lining to all this is that she is going to be related to him. Marah says that he is fine but that she hates Olivia. He tells her that Olivia isn't as evil as she thinks she is and that the problems are with herself. Marah says that she just wants her mom and dad together but Sam tells her that their separation was their own choice. She says that she just wants something normal and that he wouldn't know what normal is. She calls him Uncle Sam and he says that he wants her. She says that this is too weird and leaves. She tells him that he is one more thing for her that Olivia has ruined. Later, Josh meets Olivia at the Country Club and asks what happened with Marah. She tells him that Marah might have said yes if she didn't hate her so much. They continue to talk wedding plans but she is still bothered by her run in with Marah. He promises not to let anything ruin their night.
Michelle shows Meta the pictures from her sonogram but she doesn't want to tell her if it is a boy or a girl before Danny knows. Meta wonders why she didn't tell him yesterday and Michelle explains that Danny walked out when she tried to show him the sonogram. Meta tells her to be patient and not give up and Michelle says that Ray told her the same thing. Michelle goes to get ready to leave for her yoga class and Claire arrives. Meta asks her to leave but Claire asks to see the sonogram pictures. Meta reluctantly shows her the pictures and they bicker about her plan with Carmen. Claire tells her that the Bauers have never given her a chance to prove herself as a mother and she says that she isn't going anywhere. Meta throws her out. Claire meets Alan at the Country Club for lunch and he can tell that she is in a mood. She flirts with him and he tells her to cut the crap and tell him what this is really about. He thinks she is using him as emotional compensation because he can tell that she is troubled. She tells him about her run in with Meta and she wishes that the Bauers would have respect for her. He offers to make her feel desired after this rejection. He says that he can make anyone he wants crawl to anywhere that he wants. Michelle walks in and Alan asks Claire which instinct she should trust. He tells her that she has to approach this like a business deal and make Michelle the buyer and herself the seller. He tells her to use her position as a doctor and Claire goes over to Michelle. Michelle doesn't want to talk to her but she simply reminds Michelle that she is always there if she needs information about the pregnancy. Michelle says that she would like to hear what she has to say and Claire sits down. Claire tells her about some procedures and acts like she should get back to Alan. Claire returns to Alan's table and Alan commends her.

Catalina comes in looking for Reva. Marah and Shayne explain that she'll be home soon and Catalina tells them she has something for her. She explains that she has $500 left over and is going to pay Reva for room and board. She tells them that the lawyer cost $450 but she thought it would be more. Marah thinks she's very naive but Catalina doesn't know that word. Marah explains that the lawyer Ross referred her to probably costs $450 an hour. She says that Reva paid most of it and let Catalina pay some herself. Marah gets upset because she is having to pay Phillip back herself but Reva is willing to pay Catalina's debts for her. She is angry because everyone always thinks the worst of her so she's going to give them a reason to tonight. Shayne reminds her that she's grounded but she leaves anyway. Marah goes to Infierno to find Tony. He tells her he can't let her in because there would be trouble. Marah says that's too bad because tonight she's looking for trouble. They go in Danny's office but Marah doesn't think he'd like that. Tony tells her that he's in charge tonight and can do what he wants. They start kissing and getting closer. She stops him and tells him she wants their first time to be romantic. She wants him to call and ask her out on a date. He reluctantly agrees but wants a preview first. They kiss again and Marah gets up. She promises that he won't regret waiting and leaves. Meanwhile, Catalina and Shayne talk about how beautiful the Constitution is. She tells him that in her country the people don't make the rules. Shayne says the government isn't perfect there either but Catalina understands that it's because the government is human and humans aren't perfect. Shayne tells Catalina she can't leave him to be a nanny and they laugh. Reva arrives and is surprised to hear laughter. She asks where Marah is and Shayne says he doesn't know. Reva says that Marah is in so much trouble as Catalina goes upstairs to study. Shayne tells Reva that Marah doesn't listen to him but she isn't angry with him. She goes to the kitchen and Shayne tries to hurry Marah upstairs but Reva catches her. Reva is angry but Marah tries to tell her that Sam and Susan aren't grounded. Marah says that she's had a bad day but can't tell her about because then Reva would make a scene. Reva wants to know what happened so Marah tells her about Olivia asking her to be in the wedding. She says she gave her a guilt trip about Josh wanting her to be there but Marah says she can't do it. Reva tells her she doesn't have to and says that Josh wouldn't expect her to either. Marah goes upstairs and Reva is angry with Olivia.
Cassie and Edmund talk about a cup with an angel on it. She thinks she's seen it somewhere before but can't remember where. Edmund explains that there is an angel carved on a stone in the garden. Cassie realizes that's where she's seen it. Meanwhile, Susan talks to Buzz about a dream she had of Jim. She dreamed that Jim went swimming but was caught by a wave. She says she knew he was drowning but she couldn't get to him. She's worried that something has happened in San Cristobel. Buzz tries to calm her down and suggests she call Jim in SC. He offers her his phone but she doesn't want to owe him money too. She uses the pay phone and calls Edmund. She keeps having to put money in and he is surprised she's using a payphone. He tells her to hang up and call back collect but wants to know what's wrong first. She wants to know if Jim is okay and Edmund asks what she's heard. He assures her that Jim is fine and will be coming home for Christmas. He tells her Jim will have to come back after that and Susan informs him that she's coming back with him. Edmund is pleased and offers to take her riding and sailing while Jim works. Susan is excited and tells him she'll see him in a couple of weeks. They hang up and Cassie says that he was nice to Susan. She thinks he should show that side of himself more but he doesn't want to ruin her negative opinion of him.
May asks Buzz for some olive oil for her hair. She says she wants to look good for her date with Rick tonight. Sam arrives at Company and Susan says she needs to talk to him. She asks how people can think two different things of a person. He thinks she's talking about Edmund. She says that most people thinks he's bad but he's nice to her. He thinks that Susan brings out the best in Edmund. Meanwhile, Rick arrives for his date with May in a tuxedo. Buzz says he looks uncomfortable and offers him the keys to his bike so he can leave. May arrives and Rick thinks she looks beautiful. They leave for their date. Susan says that she will never be able to stun men the way May does. Sam can't believe she doesn't know she's beautiful. She thinks he's just making fun of her but he says it's a fact. Holly arrives with a bone to pick with Buzz. She explains that she's spent the past week thinking about the things he said about her. She wants them to have it out. Buzz doesn't know what she's talking about and she reminds him about him saying she isn't living life. He says that if she's been dwelling on that for a week she's proved that she has no life. Holly argues that sometimes people attack other for things they hate about themselves. Buzz disagrees and goes off on how badly she's treated Billy. Holly wants to know why he cares. She says she never thought they would have something in common but they do. Holly thinks that Buzz is running away from life himself. She reminds him that he ran from the war, from his family and when he finally stopped running, Selena ran away from him. She says that he has a right to be angry but not to take it out on her. Holly leaves and Susan comforts Buzz by telling him he never ran away from her.
At the Country Club, May suggests to Rick that they might be overdressed. Rick says they are just jealous and orders two Manhattans. She says she's never had one before but thinks it's good. She can't believe she's in a country club with a doctor sipping Manhattans and thinks it's like a movie. Rick orders some oysters for them. She tells him that at first she thought he was a stuffed shirt but he's definitely leading man material. He comments that she's a very beautiful leading lady. He wonders if this movie is a romance and she tells him that it's only the first reel but it could bo. He asks her to dance and they get caught up in the moment. When the song is over, people applaud them. Rick tells her he's never danced like that before in his life. She says it was like she was floating on air. They smile and call each other Fred and Ginger.
Thursday, December 14
May tells Rick that he made her feel beautiful on the dance floor and they toast. Rick asks her about herself and her favorite things. She changes the subject back to him and avoids the questions. Rick tells her about his dreams and she tells him that she wants to know how to tap dance. She mentions a movie and he asks her to talk real life for a minute. She says that she wants love and she wants to get it right. He tells her that is a good answer and they make small talk. He daydreams that they are in a black and white movie. He snaps out of it and asks her to dance again. Meanwhile, Sam asks Buzz about the motorcycle and Buzz vents about his run in with Holly. He offers to let Sam borrow the bike but he says he'll have to wait until after the wedding. He leaves and Frank and David arrive. They wonder what is wrong with Buzz and Ruth is in a bad mood too. Buzz tells Frank about his run in with Holly and mentions that Rick is out on a date with May. Frank calls Rick a rat for beating him to her. Ruth gripes about spending all the money she has to spend at Christmas and Frank tells David about Rick going out with May. Frank asks Buzz to play Santa for a fund-raiser but he is very reluctant. Frank throws a guilt trip on him about leaving when they were kids and says that he is going to play Santa whether he wants to or not. Frank and David get ready to leave just as Rick and May arrive. Frank kisses May's hand and Rick kisses May goodnight on the cheek. She goes to her room and the guys make fun of Rick's kiss. Rick makes fun of Frank for not asking May out.
Reva arrives at Olivia's and she thinks it is Josh. She asks Olivia if she asked Marah to be a bridesmaid and Reva tells her to stay the hell away from her daughter. Reva says that she knows that she knew that Marah would say no and they bicker about the kids. Reva tells her that any decision about her kids have to go through her and Olivia blurts out calling Marah Reva's neurotic teenage daughter. Reva says that she was born to protect her kids and Olivia reminds her how many times she has disappeared. Reva tells Olivia that Marah doesn't need her as a role model and reminds her that she is Marah's mother. She tells Olivia to suck it up and watch her back. Josh arrives and hears Reva telling Olivia off. Reva tells Josh that Olivia's chat with Marah nearly sent Marah off the deep end and Josh takes Olivia side. He tells Reva to go make a big scene somewhere else and leave them alone. Reva thinks that Olivia has Josh brainwashed and they argue. Josh doesn't think that Marah has the right to be rude and over-emotional because she didn't get her way and he doesn't want to be Reva and Olivia's referee. Josh apologizes to Reva and she tells him how upset the kids are. Josh thinks if they can show the kids that they can let go then it would help them and she thinks he wants her out of his life for good. He says that they had a wild ride together and maybe that something that intense can't sustain itself. She tells him that it didn't last because he left and he begs her to let go and let him have some peace. Reva tells him not to worry because she will go home and take care of the kids and she leaves angry. She stands out side the door and cries. Inside, Josh tells Olivia that he wishes she had told him that Marah was that upset. Olivia says that she didn't see a point in giving him all the awful details and says that Reva will probably go home and ag Marah home. He asks Olivia if she really wants to get tangled up in his mess and tells her to stop trying to run interference between him and Reva or Marah. Olivia tells him that she tried to keep her temper with Reva but he says that Reva won't allow that. She tells him that she is sure that she wants him.
Sam arrives to visit Marah and Catalina invites him in. He tells her that he is there to apologize for the way he acted at Company but she is reluctant to accept. They agree that they are quick to protect the people they love. Sam points out that it is going to be weird when she spends every other weekend at her dad's and he is staying there too. He says that there is something going on between them and asks her what is going on with them. She calls him conceited and he says that he is just joking around with her. He tells her goodnight and she thanks him for coming over to apologize. He is surprised that she is sincere and she shows him to the door. He turns around and kisses her and then leaves. Reva returns home to find a blazing fire and Noah on the couch. She asks him why he is there in her life and he says that is obvious. She says that sometimes she is not the nicest person in the world and she says that she has decided that she will never need a man again. He kisses her and assures her that the kids are in bed. At Noah's, he gets a message from Perdita. She tells him that working with him again makes her nostalgic for the old days and that she may stop in Springfield to see him.
Friday, December 15
Marah tells Catalina that today she is officially ungrounded. Catalina asks for a phone book so she can find a Catholic church. Marah tells her about the one on 5th street. Catalina says she is going to look for a job and a place to stay. Marah apologizes for not being nicer to her and wants to start over. She says she has a secret and is dying to tell someone. Marah tells her about Sam kissing her and how weird it was because they are almost related. She says it can't happen because she is seeing Tony but Catalina thinks she should date them both. Meanwhile, Tony and Ray are fixing the sound system at the church. Ray is lecturing him about getting a steady job and about the money he took from Infierno. Tony explains that he was trying to impress a girl, not do anything illegal. He says that he's in love and Marah is special like one of Ray's old girlfriends. Tony says that the girl was better off without him but Tony wonders what kind of life he would have had with her. He thinks Marah is worth it and he isn't going to mess that up. Tony leaves and Catalina arrives. She talks to Ray about how the church makes her feel closer to her grandmother. She says that she's written to her family in Cuba but she doesn't know if they got the letters. Ray offers to help make sure her family knows that she's safe. Catalina thanks him and offers to take him out for dinner and a movie. Ray realizes she doesn't recognize him and tells her that he's the priest there. She's embarrassed but Ray says it's okay because most people don't recognize him without his collar. He asks her how she's adapting and she tells him she's looking for a job and a place stay. He offers to take her to Infierno to find out if Danny has a job for her. They go to the club and Ray talks to Danny. He asks if he's seen Michelle and Danny says she was there the other day. Ray asks if he really looked at her because she's having morning sickness. He asks if Danny saw the sonogram and Danny says he doesn't need to see it. Ray can't believe it but Danny tells him the child will never know him. They argue and Danny tells him that Michelle should find another father for the baby. Ray thinks he's acting like Carmen and keeping her alive. Danny wants to know if there's anything else and Ray asks for a favor. He tells him about Catalina but Danny says he isn't running a refuge for Cuban immigrants. Ray asks him to just take a look at her and Danny agrees for him to introduce them. Meanwhile, Tony goes to see Marah and starts kissing her immediately. She wants him to slow down but he says they both want each other. He says that he can't stop thinking about her and wanting her. The doorbell rings and Tony tells her to get rid of whoever it is. Sam comes in saying he heard she was ungrounded and wants to celebrate by going to a movie. Tony says they are having their own private celebration. Marah tells them both she already has plans for a girls night out with Catalina. Sam says he'll just go to the gym and Tony jokes that he needs it. Sam challenges him to a push up contest and says for every hundred Tony can do, he can do two. Tony agrees and does a hundred push ups. Sam does two and Tony gets angry when he realizes he's been had. Sam leaves for the gym and Tony tells her he doesn't trust Sam. He leaves as Marah tries to reassure him they're practically related. Back at Infierno, Danny offers Catalina a job as a hostess since Pilar has gone back to school. Catalina accepts and Tony arrives. He thinks Catalina can miss the girls night out but she doesn't know what he's talking about. She fakes it and says she has to go call Marah to confirm they're plans. Sam comes back to Marah's and tells her he thought she was going out with Catalina. She says they're meeting later and Sam says it was nice of her to spare Tony's feelings. He says he'll see her later.
Rick tells Phillip that he's in love. He tells him about the date with May and how he danced like he never had before. Phillip thinks he's smitten, not in love. He says that Rick is realizing that there is life after a failed marriage. He describes how good it feels to have fun again and Rick agrees. Phillip tells him to enjoy it because the work will come later. He admits he's a little jealous. Rick asks how Harley is and Phillip tells him it's the same old thing. He says it's like he's under a microscope 24 hours a day and everything has to be about Beth. He remembers when he and Harley got together how they just had fun. He says it was nice not having to rescue someone all the time. He wishes they could have fun again. Meanwhile at Company, Buzz is dressed like Santa for the kids. Harley arrives and can't believe Frank talked Buzz into doing it. Blake and Ross arrive with their kids to see Santa. Lizzie tells Ross that she knows this isn't the real Santa but she wanted her picture taken with her brothers. Blake talks to Harley as Beth walks in. Harley wishes that an alarm would go off before Beth enters a room so she could try to prepare. They go over to speak to her and Blake asks about Jim. Beth tells them that Jim will be home later tonight. Harley asks if the girls can come over to trim the tree and Beth tells her that Susan would love it but Lizzie has play rehearsal. Beth thinks Harley and Susan should spend some time together and Harley says she was looking for Beth's approval. Blake leaves as they start to argue. She goes over to Santa and tells him she wants a ring from Ross for Christmas. Later, Ross tells Santa that he wants to live in unwedded bliss with his family. Beth and Harley are still arguing and Beth thinks she needs to get over herself. She reminds Harley that Phillip loves her and is trying to move on but she won't let it go. Phillip arrives as Frank goes over to stop the bickering. Harley tells him Susan is coming over to trim the tree and Beth explains that Lizzie has rehearsal. Phillip senses something wrong and asks Harley about it even though he knows better. She thinks he'll just take Beth's side and walks away. Buzz asks Phillip what he wants for Christmas but Phillip thinks he's getting a lump of coal. Phillip says what he really wants is one full day of happiness for Harley where she knows he loves her and their son. He says he'd give everything he owns for that and leaves. Buzz says he'll put that on the list.
Monday, December 18
Olivia tells Holly about Reva freaking out when she asked Marah to be in her wedding. She thinks if she hadn't offered, Reva would be upset over that too. She can't imagine Josh's life when he lived with Reva and thinks this further proves that she's better for him. Olivia asks Holly to be her maid of honor but Holly doesn't think she should be anywhere near the wedding. Olivia doesn't understand and says that Holly is one of her only real friends in Springfield. She asks what happened and Holly tells her about what Buzz said to her. He thinks she's a coward hiding from life and watching everybody else. Olivia says she hopes Holly threw water in his face. Holly thinks there is some truth to it but Olivia doesn't. Holly tells her she went back to Buzz and let him have it. She says she hopes he's obsessing about it now like she did. Olivia thinks they know how to push each others buttons. Olivia still wants her to be in the wedding. She says that if she doesn't, she will be proving Buzz right by staying on the sidelines. Olivia says that just by her questioning whether or not she's a coward makes her anything but.
Richard finds Cassie looking through books trying to find information on the angel cup. She wants to find something interesting that she can put on the display card for the museum. Richard tells her about using it when he was a child but says he can't help her other than that. She says that Edmund mentioned that there was a replica of the angel on a rock in the garden but she hasn't found it yet. Richard offers to show it to her and she agrees. She leaves to get a shawl while Richard calls the gardener saying it's an emergency. He says he needs to know the location of the rock. Cassie walks in on him talking with the gardener and thinks it's late for a meeting. Richard makes an excuse and grabs the directions and they leave. Later after not finding it, Richard suggests that it would be easier to navigate in daylight. Cassie thinks he could just get the gardener to show her where it is. Richard doesn't understand and Cassie tells him she knows what he did. He apologizes and says he just wanted to spend time with the woman he loves. Cassie still thinks it was deceitful since they are striving for honesty. They agree to go out looking again tomorrow. She tells him she loves him and leaves. Richard looks at the cup and starts writing down what is engraved on it.
Rick goes to Company looking for May and finds Frank instead. He says that he was hoping to run into May too. Rick tells him about their date but Frank still thinks he has a shot. Michelle arrives with a parking ticket which Frank offers to help with. He also offers to give her a ride to the mechanic's. Meanwhile, Ray tells Danny he thought he was being too hard on him before but realizes now that's what he needs. Danny wants Ray to leave Michelle out of this but Ray thinks that's Danny's department. They argue and Ray says he wishes he knew how to perform an exorcism so he could get rid of Carmen. Danny reminds him that Carmen's dead but Ray thinks Danny sees and hears her voice in the mirror. He tells him that Michelle thinks that he hates her and blames her for what happened. Danny says he never said anything like that Ray tells him he never said anything at all. That's the problem. Later, Rick finds Danny in the Bauer kitchen and Danny asks to see Michelle. Rick tells him that she's taking her car to be fixed and doesn't know when she'll be back. Danny starts to leave a note when Rick hears the car pull up. He tries to get Danny out of the room. Frank and Michelle come in laughing and she's surprised to find Danny there. Rick tells Frank that Harley called and said Phillip hurt his ankle. They leave and Michelle explains that Frank was just giving her a ride. Danny says he's there to apologize for his behavior when she brought the video of the sonogram. He wants to offer financial support for her and the baby. Michelle tells him she doesn't want his money. She says that she can provide for the baby financially, she needs help emotionally. She says the baby needs it's father. Danny doesn't understand why she wants to do this. He says that she walked out on him before and she was right to do so. Michelle says she couldn't stay away and realized she was wrong about him. Danny thinks her instincts were right and that she will never really know him. She brings up that she married him and he reminds her that she did that to avoid being killed. She says that later she gave him her heart and he tells her that after that they got divorced. He says he's trying to do the right thing by setting up money for the baby. She tells him that they belong together and he'll realize that someday. Until then she wants him to go think about that. She tells him to leave and not come back until he's ready to be a family.
Harley is out on the porch and Phillip asks her what's wrong. She admits she heard him tell Buzz his Christmas wish about her being happy for one day. He doesn't think it worked because she's clearly not happy now. Harley says she learned a long time ago that Christmas wishes don't come true but she hoped he'd be the one to change that. Phillip says he still can be. Harley tells him she's been thinking about that and what Beth said about her standing in the way of her own happiness. She thinks there might be some truth to it. She thinks that she can be happy for one night where they are just loving each other. They hug and Susan arrives commenting on how happy they look. She and Harley start to argue but Phillip brings the tree in and tells them that they are going to decorate it and be happy. The tree falls on him and he says that's hurt his ankle. Later, after receiving crutches from Rick, Phillip wants to continue helping trim the tree. Susan wants to play some music but Phillip tells her not to plug it in the same plug as the tree because she will blow a fuse. He asks her if she knows how many fires start with Christmas trees but she wants to avoid those stats. Sam calls but Harley wants her off the phone. She hears Susan talking about a new CD set she wants. Harley thinks that Susan should be focused on paying Phillip back, not buying new CDs. Susan assures her she is going to pay Phillip back but she wants to know when. Susan offers to invite Marah and Sam over so they can talk about it but Harley doesn't think she needs to have a party. Harley says that Susan doesn't know how lucky she is to have two sets of parents that love her. She says that they've all been waiting for Susan to show them some love and respect back but she's tired of waiting. Harley says that Susan is going to have a happy Christmas if it kills them. Susan says that if she and Phillip are going to break up, do it already and walks out. Phillip thinks that went well and Harley throws down an ornament.
Beth promises to wake Lizzie up when Jim comes home. She calls the hotel in San Cristobel to make sure he checked out. She says that she's finally going to get the family Christmas she's always wanted as one of the lights on the tree starts blinking. She starts to fix it when the phone rings. She's surprised to hear Edmund's voice and he assures her that Jim is on his way home. He asks to speak to Susan but she tells him she's having dinner with Phillip and Harley. He starts to hang up but she asks him to wait. She says it's been a while since they've spoken and he says that's by her request. She just wanted to know how he was doing and thinks she should hang up because Jim will be home soon. Edmund wishes her happy holidays since they probably won't speak again. They hang up and Beth goes outside to wait for Jim. The light on the tree goes out and smoke starts to appear. Jim arrives and Beth tells him how much she missed him. He asks where everyone is and she explains that Susan is with Harley and Lizzie is asleep since she wasn't feeling well. They start towards the house and Jim smells the smoke. He goes running inside and they find fire has covered the livingroom. Beth screams for Lizzie.
Tuesday, December 19
Marah and Catalina box up some canned goods for needy people and Catalina is excited that she can help others this year. She tells Marah that she may have messed things up with Tony and a knock at the door interrupts them. It is Noah and he tells Reva that he has the answer to their problems. He swoops her out and Catalina finishes her talk with Marah. She tells Marah that the next time she is going to use her as an alibi that to tell her first. Marah explains why she did it and says that she doesn't know what to do about Sam and Tony. Just then Tony arrives at the door and wants to come in. He says that he knew Marah was lying about girls night out and they tell him that Marah was going to give Catalina a pedicure. Catalina tells him that tonight she is Marah's protector and asks him why she should let him come in. He tells her that he needs to be around Marah and that he can't stop thinking about how the light hits her hair and about the smell of her perfume. Catalina lets him in and lights a small candle. She tells him that she is going to go upstairs and then when the candle burns out he has to leave. She goes upstairs and Tony and Marah begin to make out. Marah worries that it is too quiet and that Catalina will think something is going on. Tony tells Marah to quit wasting her time with Sam and Marah assures him that Sam isn't a threat to their relationship because they don't have one. He asks her what this is then and why it is that she shivers every time that he touches her. They continue to make out and he tells her that he has been thinking about what she said in Danny's office about their first time being special. He tells her that there is a little inn outside of town and that he wants to take her there some weekend. She doesn't answer him and the candle burns out. Frank doesn't think one day constitutes "dating." He convinces her to say yes. She tells him how she's sworn off men but she's already broken that vow by going out with Rick. She says she won't go out with him again until he's divorce. Frank admits that he's still married but says he's been separated longer than Rick has. Phillip looks out the window and sees Harley with Frank. Rick gets ready to leave as Beth comes down with the baby. Phillip holds him and says that he still thinks the world is a fair place. He doesn't look forward to having to explain all this someday. He wishes he could keep him this way. Phillip promises to take care of him and to let him know who gave them this chance. He says it will be easy because he's named after him. He says that Jim loved the baby more than he knew, more than life itself. She begs him to keep Marah occupied just for tonight and he agrees. She tells him to pour on the charm and he leaves. Josh and Shayne go over the final details before they leave and then they leave for the club. Later, Tony arrives early to pick up Marah and Reva is still there. He tells Marah that he couldn't get reservations at the inn but he did get them a room at a motel. Marah yells up to Reva that she is going to take a walk to calm herself and she tells Tony that she is leaving a note for Shayne saying that she is spending the weekend at a girlfriend's. On their way, Tony tells Marah how lucky they were to find a room and he assures her that it will be a classy place. Noah arrives to pick up Reva. He kids her about being nervous and she asks him about his mother's death. He explains that Paulina is his step-mother and he thanks her for asking instead of assuming that he is hiding something. Shortly after they leave Sam arrives to pick up Marah. He goes inside and finds the note from Marah. It says that she is with Tony and not to tell Josh where she is. It says that she is pretty sure that she is in love and ready for what happens next.
Beth finally gets James to sleep and explains to Phillip that he isn't used to all the movement. Phillip offers for them to stay at the mansion as long as they need. Beth tells Phillip to go home to his wife and thanks her for everything. Phillip leaves and Edmund arrives. Edmund tells Beth that Phillip is so protective of her because he is still in love with her. Beth says that he just has to take care of his children and she doesn't want to talk about this. Edmund tells her that she has to help Phillip maintain proper boundaries and he offers to relocate her and her children anywhere she chooses. He suggests that she come stay at the palace but she tells him that he knows why she can't do that. He tells her that he will show respect for her wishes whatever they may be and she admits that she does enjoy his company. She says that she thinks she is being punished for her mistakes but Edmund reminds her that she asked him to stay away. Beth tells Edmund that she envies him the last week he spent with Jim and Edmund tells her about an evening that they spent together. Meanwhile, Phillip arrives at home to find Harley lying on the couch. She is discouraged by Susan's behavior and asks Phillip what he is doing there. He tells her that the worst is over and that he wants to show her how much her patience has meant to him. She tells him that she is numb and sad and that she doesn't have the strength to talk about this. He agrees and she says that they avoid talking about it much longer. He tells her that she is giving him mixed signals and he asks her what has changed. Harley says that all she can feel is anger and jealousy and Phillip tells her to stop trying to be everything to everybody. Susan comes down for something to eat and asks Phillip how Beth is doing. Susan asks to go over to the mansion and sit with James for a while so that Beth can take a nap. Susan says that she wants to see Edmund and Harley tells her not to invest too much in her friendship with Edmund. Susan leaves and Phillip mentions how Edmund is circling around Beth and the kids. Harley doesn't want to talk about that and Phillip suggests that they don't talk about the future of their marriage until the are feeling better. Susan arrives at the mansion and tells Edmund that she is half way through her book. Beth goes to make Susan some cocoa and Edmund tells Susan how much Beth loves her. Edmund asks Susan how it is over at Harley's and tells her that if the going gets too rough then he will come and whisk her away. Susan really believes that Edmund will be there for her.
